Study technique and performance one-on-one with a specialist on your instrument, meeting for either 30 or 60 minutes weekly throughout the teaching session.

Ensembles & Courses

Engage hands-on with creative music by enrolling in a performing ensemble or course. Ensembles rehearse weekly for the duration of each teaching session.

Introduction to group playing, creative study, and ensemble performance. All instruments.

318 | Contemporary Soul Ensemble | Mondays 6-7pm

Mid- to late-20th century soul & R&B. Drums, guitar, bass, piano/keyboard, vocals, winds/brass.

319 | Alternative Rock Ensemble | Mondays 7:30-8:30pm

20th and 21st century rock, indie, punk, and everything else that doesn’t fit under one genre umbrella. Drums, guitar, bass, piano/keyboard, vocals, winds/brass.

317 | Rural Music Ensemble | Tuesdays 5:30-6:30pm

Country, blues, bluegrass, fiddle tunes, and other rural music traditions. Guitar, mandolin, fiddle & orchestral strings, bass, piano.

316 | Bebop Ensemble | Tuesdays 6-7pm

Mid-20th century jazz, centered around the bebop family tree. Guitar, bass, piano, drums, winds/brass.

311 | Old Soul Roots Ensemble | Tuesdays 8-9pm

Early- to mid-20th century folk, roots, mountain, rag, and gospel music. Guitar, bass, piano, vocals, winds/brass, mandolin, fiddle, percussion.

213 | Preparatory Rock Ensemble | Wednesdays 5:30-6:30pm

Mid- to late-20th century rock and roll. Drums, guitar, bass, piano/keyboard, vocals, winds/brass.

A trumpet fundamentals deep-dive, collaborative practice session, and duet workshop.

Familiarize yourself with standards from the American Canon and learn them in all twelve keys.

For musicians of all experience levels. Build a pragmatic foundational understanding of melodic music theory and ear training.
